Equipment
Don't use images cut directly from magazines. The print on the reverse side will show through and ruin the effect. Photocopy or scanned and lazer printed images are the best. Inkjet images are water soluble and won't work either.
Do not use wax or plastic coated paper as Podge and Varnish will not adhere to these. Use gift wrap paper or real decoupage paper which may be purchased in sheet form. Thin or fragile paper may be strengthened by apply a few coats of Dala Podge. Apply this before cutting the picture out and make sure that the Podge is dry first.
Paper that is too thin will let the base colour show through. You may or may not want to use this fas a special effect.
Picture Samples
